| My Christmas decorations are finally put away. My living room looks empty now . I'm not sure if I have mentioned it lately but I am really enjoying my kids- deep spiritual discussions with Nicole this morning when it was just the two of us, Nicole playing with her cousins this afternoon and evening; Jaimée taking care of her two little boy cousins; Julie playing Wii with Joël and also taking care of her cousins; Joël adjusting well to his braces, playing with his cousins, asking Julie to play Wii with him, and having a friend over tonight to watch his new movie he won (and waiting until papa was ready to watch it with them). I know I'm really going to miss this stage of life. I'm going to enjoy it for all it's worth in the meantime! Wisdom #9 I love my kids! | | |
| I need to childproof my house for tomorrow. My bro and sil's three kids are coming for an overnighter so they can go out to celebrate his 30th bday. The youngest had just started walking instead of crawling. Tomorrow morning I'll be off to Winnipeg for the kids' swimming lessons so can't leave the cleaning up until then. I'm off to see if I can get the Christmas decorations actually stored where they are supposed to be instead of in a pile in a corner of my living room. Wisdom #8 You quickly forget the challenges of having toddlers. | | |
| Wisdom # 7 The best parts of taking kids to the dentist are spending time together with my kid and reading a book while they are in the dentist chair. This is Joël this morning.
This is Joël this evening.
He is in pain tonight. Lots of tylenol and hopefully he can sleep. Here is also a picture of Nicole from after the school family fun night last night.
She had a lot of fun. | | |
| Yesterday my father in law came over again to help me get the rest of the tiles on the backsplash in my kitchen. My kitchen is looking so nice. The next steps to finishing my kitchen are 1) grout the tiles, 2) take the rest of the cupboard doors off, 3) finish priming the cupboards, 4) fill holes on frames arounds windows, 5) put on first coat of white paint on cupboards and around windows, 6) put on second coat of white paint on cupboards and around windows, 7) put second coat of brown on the cupboard accents, 8) touch up the yellow wall paint where necessary, 9) prime, paint white, and accent brown the cupboard doors, 10) buy new cupboard pulls, and 11) put the cupboard doors back up with the new hinges. Then my kitchen will be as good as new! (the flooring will be another year's project) We'll see when I get this all finished as I only have Monday afternoon and Thursdays that are free of other committments. And I now have to book orthodontist appointments in those slots as well. Joël is getting braces tomorrow. Gotta run and finish prepping for my french storytimes this morning. | | |
| Wisdom #6 I rejuvinate in a quiet house all by myself cleaning/organizing things. The opportunity to do this on a regular basis is very important to me! I feel so much better after having a day to myself. I washed dishes, ate breakfast and drank coffee actually sitting at the table (versus on the run), spent time journalling and reading the Bible, did a serious clean of my room and ensuite, 5 loads of laundry, and talked for 30 minutes on the phone with my friend who had been away for the weekend. Now for the busy rest of my week. | | |
